Nowadays video games have become powerful and effective media due to their high potentiality in communicating with audiences; such that in the past two decades,game industry has transformed into one of the most money-making industries in the world. Therefore,in recent years lots of attention has been given to studying technical,artistic,and sociological aspects of games; such that currently game research is one of the active fields in many universities.
Starting from 2016,“Computer Games: Challenges and Opportunities (CGCO)” is an annual Iranian conference for supporting and leading game researchers. CGCO covers various aspects of game research including psychology,sociology,computer science,information technology,art,medical sciences,management,economy,and other related topics. This conference is also accompanied by other game events such as game development marathon and specialized panels in order to proficiently bridge between research and industry.
First two CGCO conferences,organized at national level,were very successful. Thus,the organizing committee decided to hold the third conference at the international level to connect Iranian researchers to the others around the world. CGCO2018,similar to the previous conferences,will be hosted by University of Isfahan (UI),one of the top universities in Iran. Special focus of CGCO2018 will be on simulation,augmented/virtual/mixed reality and related technologies.
Organizing committee invites all scholars,students,researchers,developers,and other interested activists of video games to participate in CGCO2018 in historical city of Isfahan and get the opportunity to improve their knowledge,skills,and networks.
